Information on the Processing of Personal Data of Users of the Czech Leonarda Film Award, Operated by the Czech Leonarda Foundation

The Czech Leonarda Foundation processes personal data always in accordance with applicable legal regulations, i.e., Regulation (EU) 2016/679 of the European Parliament and of the Council, the General Data Protection Regulation (hereinafter referred to as the “Regulation”), and other legal provisions governing the handling of personal data.

Czech Leonarda Film Award

Czech Leonarda is an original concept for awarding financial scholarships to Czech female filmmakers who win in their category in the Treatment Competition. Applicants can apply annually using the online form on the website www.ceskaleonarda.cz and compete for the scholarship. On this website, they can also present their audiovisual works. Czech Leonarda uses the personal data of registered filmmakers solely for communication with them within the competition and further communicates and collaborates with them in working on joint non-commercial projects and other non-profit activities related, for example, to promoting the Czech Leonarda Award and registered filmmakers abroad or for educational purposes.

Data Subject

The data subject is a visitor of the website www.ceskaleonarda.cz and a registered applicant for the Czech Leonarda competition (hereinafter referred to as “User”).

Scope of Processed Personal Data

The Czech Leonarda Foundation processes personal data provided by the User through the application form on the Czech Leonarda Foundation’s website.

The personal data processed include:

Common personal data: first and last name, permanent residence address, correspondence address, date of birth, email address, data from provided files containing the applicant’s professional information, user’s social networks, as well as data files – submitted Treatment and accompanying materials (Trailer or photographs) provided by the user in connection with filling out the application for the Czech Leonarda competition, as well as electronic access to the Czech Leonarda Foundation’s website, IP address, and cookies.

Purpose of Personal Data Processing and Legal Basis for Processing

Users’ personal data are processed for the purpose of administering and organizing the Czech Leonarda Film Award, further for monitoring the traffic of the website www.ceskaleonarda.cz, for providing updates regarding the operating conditions of the Czech Leonarda Film Award and their changes, and further for providing information about other non-commercial activities of Czech Leonarda.

The processing of personal data is based on the legitimate interest of the controller as the organizer of the Czech Leonarda Award. The controller’s interest is to use information about Users for planning activities and the program of the Czech Leonarda Film Award and for optimizing the services provided to Users.

Sources of Personal Data

The personal data processed are obtained directly from the User, particularly through the application form and subsequent communication with the User.

Disclosure of Data to Other Persons

Personal data may be disclosed to entities authorized under specific legal provisions (e.g., law enforcement agencies, etc.) and to persons acting as data processors for the Czech Leonarda Foundation, with whom the Czech Leonarda Foundation collaborates within its activities.

These persons include, in particular, software service providers and the company KMB International Films s.r.o., which handles the production of film award activities.

Period for Which the Subject Consents to Processing, and Duration of Personal Data Storage

The User consents to the processing of personal data by the Czech Leonarda Foundation for the duration of the film competition cycle and for a period not exceeding five (5) years from the last use.

Why the Personal Data Provided by Users are Necessary for Us

Providing personal data by the User is a necessary condition for the administration of the Czech Leonarda Film Award; therefore, it constitutes a contractual requirement.

Additional Information on Rights in Relation to the Processing of Personal Data

According to the Regulation, the data subject has the following rights:

Right of Access to Personal Data: The data subject has the right to obtain confirmation from the Czech Leonarda Foundation as to whether their personal data is being processed, and if so, to access those personal data.

Right to Rectification and Erasure, or to Restriction of Processing: The data subject has the right (in cases specified by the Regulation) to request the Czech Leonarda Foundation to correct or supplement incorrect or incomplete personal data, to request the deletion of personal data if they are no longer necessary or there is no reason for their processing, or to request the restriction of processing of personal data in connection with addressing the circumstances of processing personal data by the Czech Leonarda Foundation.

Right to Object: The data subject has the right, for reasons related to their specific situation, to at any time object to the Czech Leonarda Foundation against the processing of their personal data carried out for the purposes of the legitimate interests of the Czech Leonarda Foundation or other persons (according to the Regulation); legitimate interests under the Regulation may include, in particular, cases of protecting the rights and legal claims of the Czech Leonarda Foundation.

Right to Data Portability: The data subject has (under the conditions specified by the Regulation) the right to obtain their personal data from the Czech Leonarda Foundation and to transfer it to another data controller.

How to Exercise These Rights: The data subject can exercise their rights arising from the processing of personal data at any time by contacting the Czech Leonarda Foundation at the postal address or by email at the address mentioned above.

Right to Lodge a Complaint with a Supervisory Authority: In any matter related to the processing of personal data, the data subject, if they believe that the processing of their personal data has violated the Regulation, has the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority.
